Her decision overrides the conscience rights of Missouri SB 749, which was passed into law in 2012, and then vetoed by Gov. Jay Nixon. Subsequently the governor‘s veto was overridden by the Missouri legislature. Attorney General Chris Koster’s office fought to defend this statute (SB749). Despite his efforts, and the decisions of other federal judges to support the statute, Judge Fleissig has now overturned it.
