Celebrating the Society of St. Vincent de Paul
St. Gabriel uses the 9am Mass on the second Sunday of the month to recognize various organizations within the parish.
This month, we will celebrate the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, which offers assistance to those in need throughout the area. We invite all parishioners, especially those involved in the Society, to come together at the 9am Mass to pay tribute to their devotion to those facing poverty, disability, illness and despair.
The St. Gabriel Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides person-to-person assistance to hundreds of individuals in the community each year, including expenditures for food, utilities, rent and medical care, as well as donations of furnishings and clothes. Indeed, the St. Vincent de Paul truck will be on the school parking lot on Saturday, November 11 from 8am—Noon to collect furniture and other items. “Charity is the cement that unites communities to God and individuals to each other so that he who contributes to the union of hearts in a community binds it indissolubly to God, “ St. Vincent de Paul once said.
Following the 9am Mass, all parishioners are invited for coffee and donuts in the school cafeteria.
