Safe Environment Program (Protecting God's Children)
"Certainly children are a gift from the LORD..."
St. Gabriel Parish and School follow the requirements of the Archdiocese of St. Louis Safe Environment Program (Protecting God's Children). The program is designed to help protect the youth, elderly, and vulnerable adults of our parish as they participate in activities within our community. All volunteers and employees who work with children at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish must be in full compliance with the program. This includes:
- Attending a Protecting God’s Children workshop - click for the Program Schedule,
- Undergoing a background check updated in even-numbered years,
- Having an FBI fingerprint check if you have lived outside of Missouri within the past five years, and
- Signing the Code of Ethical Conduct (choose from the list below).
These requirements are mandated by the United States Council of Catholic Bishops and are followed by every diocese in the country. The policies are the Church’s attempt to ensure the suitability of all adults who work or volunteer around your children.
If you have any questions, or have taken these steps at another Parish in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, please contact Eileen Garavaglia (firstname.lastname@example.org) at (314) 353-6303 x 110.
