We are collecting food items again this week. Place any donations you have in the baskets at the church exits through Sunday. Reminder too, any monetary donations can be put in the rectory mail slot in an envelop marked Food For Life. The donations this month will be delivered to the food pantry at St. Agatha's Center, located near the brewery in south St. Louis. We will be collecting the food throughout the week, Sunday, October 25 - Sunday, November 1. We are challenged this month, with the rectory office is closed and our priests currently in quarantine. On the weekend of Oct. 24 and 25, Khader & Mary Abu Sada a Catholic couple from the Holy Land will be visiting our parish to market olive wood hand carved religious articles made by the Christian artisans in the Holy Land.  With the hostilities worsening in the Holy Land and the lack of Christian pilgrims, the outlets for the olive wood hand-carvings have been closed, leading unemployment to increase up to 75%, and forcing many Christians to leave the Holy Land in order to find other ways to market their handiwork. Blood Drive The parish blood drive is scheduled for Sunday October 25, 8:00 am-12:30 pm. Safety precautions for the blood drive will include a complete sanitizing of the space before the drive opens, greeting donors at the school entrance and direction on where to wait safely until called to begin the check in process. Masks will be required and those that don’t have one will be given one when arriving. Each station that a donor stops at will be wiped down between donors. St. Gabriel will hold a fall Day of Service on Saturday, October 17, 2020.  We will be working on area homes and on projects in our neighborhoods. Among the tasks will be landscaping, minor home repair and more.  Because of COVID-19 we will limit the number of indoor projects for the safety of all involved. The First Tuesday of the Month for Exposition/Adoration/Benediction has resume! Each month on the first Tuesday. we begin with Exposition at 2:00 pm.  Adoration continues until 7:00 pm with Benediction.  If your schedule permits, please stop by for a brief period of devotion.  It is a blessing to be able to resume this monthly practice.  There is no need to schedule anything - Simply drop by for a visit.
