On the weekend of Oct. 26 and 27, Khader & Mary Abu Sada a Catholic couple from the Holy Land will be visiting our parish to market olive wood hand carved religious articles made by the Christian artisans in the Holy Land.  With the hostilities worsening in the Holy Land and the lack of Christian pilgrims, the outlets for the olive wood hand-carvings have been closed, leading unemployment to increase up to 75%, and forcing many Christians to leave the Holy Land in order to find other ways to market their handiwork. But the absence of a living Christian community is disastrous for the Holy sites, such ...

Calling All Musicians!

Posted on September 19, 2019 in: Parish-wide Announcements

The St. Gabriel Parish Choir sings each Sunday at the 11:00 Mass, and rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.  We are always in need of a few more tenors and basses, especially.  Musical reading is definitely a plus, but many quick learners with good ears do very well and learn some basic reading skills along the way.  We sing a wide variety of music from all musical eras, plus we always pray twice with our singing!  The St. Gabriel Young Adult Choir sings about three times each month, rotating mostly between the 9:00 and 11:00 Masses.  These talented young adults rehearse from 4...

All parishioners are invited to join the St. Gabriel Adoration Society and spend at least one hour a month in church in prayer. All levels of commitment are welcome. Taking advantage of the gift of adoration is one of the best ways to draw closer to God. A holy hour is simply spending time in the presence of God. It's not a project to be accomplished but an exercise of love. You can read the bible or a spiritual book, say the Rosary, or just rest with the Lord. For a list of times available or for more details, call Veda Jeggle at 752-3109 or email Mary Beth Wolf at marybethluna@hotmail.com
