Every year, Monsignor Shamleffer has kindly distributed loaves of bread to St. Gabriel parishioners for Thanksgiving. This year the bread being distributed is from Bridge Bread and is an introduction to selling Bridge Bread bakery products on Donut Sunday at St. Gabriel’s beginning in December. Bridge Bread is a social enterprise designed to provide job opportunities for people experiencing homelessness. The goal of the program is to help the disadvantaged engage in a financially rewarding effort that enhances self-worth, promotes dignity and enables them to help themselves.
