Join us for a morning of prayer, community and service sponsored by the ACTS community in the Gabriel House on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 beginning immediately after the 8:00am Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception until 11:00am. There will be a rosary, reflections on the season by Deacon Dave Willis and an opportunity for fellowship. In lieu of admission please bring an item of new winter outerwear (such as blankets, coats, mittens or hats) in any sizes from toddler to teens to benefit the children of St. Matthew's Neighborhood. Every year, Monsignor Shamleffer has kindly distributed loaves of bread to St. Gabriel parishioners for Thanksgiving. This year the bread being distributed is from Bridge Bread and is an introduction to selling Bridge Bread bakery products on Donut Sunday at St. Gabriel’s beginning in December. Bridge Bread is a social enterprise designed to provide job opportunities for people experiencing homelessness. The goal of the program is to help the disadvantaged engage in a financially rewarding effort that enhances self-worth, promotes dignity and enables them to help themselves.
