Many of us may know what the Church teaches, but many of us may not know why the Church teaches what She teaches.  Would you like to know why the Church teaches what She does?  Do you like spending time with people (especially those whose company you may enjoy)?  Do you enjoy food of any type?  If you answered ‘YES’ to any or all of these questions, we invite you to consider joining us on the First Tuesday of every month at 7:15 pm. Normally we would meet in the Fireplace Room, in the rectory basement, for now we will meet REMOTELY.  To join in the discussion on ZOOM...

Our donations this month will be delivered to the St. Trinity food pantry in the Carondelet area. Many of you, I'm sure, have read how food pantries are struggling to keep up with the needs of families. Donations have been dramatically reduced as church activities have been diminished and at the same time so many more folks have lost income to pay for basic necessities. We’re asking for your generosity in sharing what you can for those less fortunate. Just as last month with there being no Masses offered at church we are asking folks to drop off their food donations in the back of church. We will have the...

During this time without Mass consider making an Act of Spiritual Communion, where we unite ourselves to God through prayer. It is a beautiful way to express to God our desire to be united with him when we are unable to complete that union in the reception of Holy Communion. The ultimate goal of our lives should be communion with God and an act of spiritual communion can help a person draw closer to that goal. My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come a...

Mother's Day is Sunday, May 10. In previous years, St. Gabriel LIFE Group asked for donations of items for our Mother's Day Gift Bags project. Because of the current pandemic, and the physical limitations it has put on all of us, we will not undertake this project this year. If you are so inclined, you can send a donation (a check in the mail or an online donation) to one of the agencies this project served: Our Lady's Inn, Good Shepherd Children and Family Services, or Birthright Counseling of St. Louis. No obligation here. This is just a suggestion for those who desire to do so. Thank you.  St. Gab...

Women at the Well

Posted on April 16, 2020 in: Parish-wide Announcements

All women of the parish - Join us at the well! Our mission offers the opportunity to come together to BUILD COMMUNITY WITH FAITH, FELLOWSHIP AND FUN. As we experience the Triduum and Easter and all of life in ways we could never have imagined, the Bucket Brigade would like to take this time to wish each of you a truly blessed and joyous Easter. We may be keeping physical distances between us but our hearts and souls remain connected through the presence of a loving God whose embrace has no bounds and His risen Son who provides us with hope in the Resurrection. Due to COVID-19, our next W@TW gathering on April 23 i...

My Dear Parishioners: We have begun this Holy Week, while like no other Holy Week in our existence, it can and hopefully will be a graced time.  My call, your call, is to grow in Holiness (oneness with our God), this is more than an ethereal idea but is rooted in a daily lived experience of sharing of life and love with others. While we cannot gather physically in Church for prayer, our Church is not closed for we are the Church, we are the daughters and sons of our Lord, we are one. I personally am taking this time to reflect and remember; to remember what love our God has for us and what love I have received i...
