Flu Vaccine Unfortunately we will not be hosting a flu vaccine clinic here at St Gabriel this fall due to logistical issues and our inability to guarantee the minimum number of doses. Flu vaccines can be obtained nearby at Target, Walgreens, Schnucks, Deirbergs and most physicians’ offices.  I will post BJCs schedule of free vaccine clinics when it becomes available. We need your help in finding worthy projects! St. Gabriel will hold a fall Day of Service on Saturday, October 17, 2020.  We will be working on area homes and on projects in our neighborhoods. Among the tasks will be landscaping, minor home repair and more.  Because of COVID-19 we will limit the number of indoor projects for the safety of all involved. Watch upcoming bulletins for details on how to sign up to help. Last year, we had about 50 volunteers. Many of us may know what the Church teaches, but many of us may not know why the Church teaches what She teaches.  Would you like to know why the Church teaches what She does?  Do you like spending time with people (especially those whose company you may enjoy)?   If you answered ‘YES’ to any or all of these questions, we invite you to consider joining us on the First Tuesday of every month at 7:15 pm. All parishioners are invited to join the St. Gabriel Adoration Society and spend at least one hour a month in church in prayer. All levels of commitment are welcome. Taking advantage of the gift of adoration is one of the best ways to draw closer to God. A holy hour is simply spending time in the presence of God. It's not a project to be accomplished but an exercise of love. You can read the bible or a spiritual book, say the Rosary, or just rest with the Lord. For a list of times available or for more details, call Veda Jeggle at 752-3109 or email Mary Beth Wolf at marybethluna@hotmail.com

Several Parishioners and School Families have asked us to continue to sell gift cards through the SCRIP program.  It gives them the oppurtunity to give back to the parish and school and it allows them to purchase gifts for family and friends safely. Some parishioners, who are not grocery shopping during this time of COVID are able to provide Dierbergs gift cards to those who shop for them without the need to exchange money.  Consider purchasing GIFT CARDS through the St. Gabriel SCRIP program for yourself or for those in need. We continue to sell SCRIP gift cards at the rectory and eCards o...

The Bishops of Missouri have established the following common practices in the celebration of Mass to fulfill the requirements of social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Before Mass Archbishop Carlson has dispensed all the faithful from the obligation to attend Mass on Sunday.  Therefore:  -- Those who are symptomatic or who have been exposed to another with the virus within 14 days are not permitted to enter the church, in accordance with national, state and local health directives. All attendees are asked to check their temperature at home before coming to church. --  Thos...

Our donations this month will be delivered to the MAT Social Ministry. This food pantry serves our sister parish St. Matthew. We will be collecting the food throughout the week starting Sunday, August 30 - September 6. As mentioned, food pantries around the metropolitan area have been struggling to keep up with the demands of an ever-increasing clientele. Your donations come at a vital time for many families affected by this pandemic. Thank you as always for your generosity.
