St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish and School is seeking a full time maintenance worker. Duties & Responsibilities include providing maintenance for parish/school facilities; knowledge/experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting; assist with safety protocols; setting up events; inspections; as needed janitorial tasks; assist Maintenance Director as needed; other functions as determined by Maintenance Director or Pastor. Duties & Responsibilities

Report to Maintenance Director

Provide maintenance, including troubleshooting and minor repairs, for parish/school facilities and grounds

Semi-skilled carpentry, simple plumbing, electrical wrk, painting

Seasnal grounds maintenance

Assist with safety protocols

Set ut cones and close parking lot gates for morning drop off

Open parking lt gates approximately 10 minutes prior to school dismissal

Perform walkthrough/inspection of school grounds prior to school start time

Clean up areas as needed

Assist with event set up (tables/chairs for school programs)

Emergency clean ups.

Haul/Move items and picking up parts or other equipment as requested by staff

Report cleaning and grounds maintenance inventory needs to Maintenance Supervisor

Assist with Janitorial tasks as needed

Empty trash, mp/vacuum floors, clean bathrooms, wash windows

Other cleaning activities as directed

Assist Maintenance Director, as needed

Other functions as determined by the Maintenance Director or Pastor.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

Knowledge of and experience with light carpentry work required

Knowledge of and experience with minor building repairs

Knowledge and use of industrial strength cleaning chemicals

Some janitorial experience preferred

Skills & Attitudes Required for Success in Job

General knowledge and support of the Catholic Church, its sacraments, rites and liturgies

Must have necessary mechanical skills and the ability to work safely with machinery and equipment requiring considerable caution

Must have ability to perform outlined tasks with minimum supervision and be self-motivated

Must have good interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate

Must be able to maintain confidentiality

Ability to tolerate varying temperatures and climate changes

Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and stand for long periods

Must use supplies and equipment responsibly

Willingness to work a flexible schedule with possible evening and/or weekend hours

On-call availability for emergencies

Relationships Requirements

Collaborate with Maintenance Director on prioritizing and addressing maintenance requests from staff

Infrm Maintenance Director of completed requests

Serve as point of contact for contractors when Maintenance Director is unavailable

Work well with the Pastor and other parish employees
